  • Before Shipping Automotive Cores: A Coordination Checklist

By Maxcore Industries

Before shipping automotive cores, confirm the material, receiving location, packing instructions, transportation arrangements, and transaction records with the buyer. A clear plan helps everyone connect what leaves your facility with what is expected at check-in.

This is a coordination checklist, not Maxcore's packing specification or a carrier's handling instructions. Obtain the instructions that apply to your material and shipment before preparing the load.

1. Confirm the inventory being discussed

Keep a dated list of the cores included in the conversation. Separate identified parts and quantities, describe known condition differences, and note any unresolved identification questions.

If the inventory changes after a quote discussion, tell the purchasing team before shipment. Do not assume that added, substituted, or differently identified parts are covered by the same agreement.

2. Confirm the receiving destination

Ask for the receiving address and contact for the specific shipment. Confirm any appointment, receiving-hour, or arrival instructions. A general business contact address should not be treated as shipment authorization.

For dock sales, contact the team before making a trip. Maxcore describes dock buying on its core supplier page; the receiving instructions for your material should be confirmed directly.

3. Obtain packing and handling instructions

Explain what you intend to ship and ask the buyer and carrier which packing and handling instructions apply. Confirm identification labels, packaging, and any material-specific preparation before proceeding.

Use the actual instructions for the shipment rather than copying a general example from an article. If a part's condition or contents are uncertain, raise that question with the people arranging the transport.

4. Agree who is arranging transportation

Confirm who books the transport, which contact should receive the shipment details, and how the transport costs are handled. Share accurate information needed to plan the collection or delivery, and ask how changes or delays should be communicated.

Keep the agreed transaction and transportation details together. Do not infer responsibility for costs or discrepancies from a general service description.

5. Connect the paperwork to the material

Ask which inventory, quote, invoice, or shipment references should accompany the load. Keep copies of the documents and any photographs used to record identification or condition.
